Rabbi Carlebach is a graduate of The Central Yeshiva at 770 Eastern Parkway (Chabad Lubavitch headquarters) and the Rabbinical College of Australia in Sydney where he recieved his ordination (semicha). He has spent many years involved in outreach work, and was the Rabbi for Sydney2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. Rabbi Carlebach also led 2001 Passover services at the US Air Force base in Tokyo, Japan. In addition to serving as Chaplain at the 2004 Republican National Convention in NYC and 2008 Republican National Convention in Twin Cities, MN, Rabbi Carlebach was chosen to represent the Jewish community at the National Day of Prayer observances at the White House in May of 2006.
Rabbi Mendy Carlebach serves as Chaplain in the Port Authority Police of NY & NJ, in the South Brunswick Police Department and as the Jewish Chaplain in the Federal Bureau of Prisons at MCC in NYC, NY.
Chabad House - Lubavitch Jewish Center Of North & South Brunswick has been active in the community for many years. In 1978 Rabbi Yosef Carlebach moved to the area and established Chabad House -Lubavitch of Central and South Jersey. After years of various successful programs and activities in the South & North Brunswick community, Rabbi Yosef Carlebach saw a need for a full time Rabbi to serve the South & North Brunswick communities.
In 1998, Rabbi Mendy Carlebach initiated Youth Programs in the community, (i.e. Model Matzoh Bakeries, Shofar Factories, Chanukah-Olive Oil Press).
Chabad House Jewish Center Of North & South Brunswick is an affiliate of Chabad House-Lubavitch at Rutgers University, the largest Chabad House in The U.S.A. Rabbi Yosef Carlebach, Director.
