The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, was one of the most influential Jewish leaders of the modern era. Under his vision, a global network of Chabad emissaries was born—men and women who dedicate their lives to uplifting individuals, strengthening communities, and bringing the joy of Judaism to every corner of the earth. Chabad House – Lubavitch Jewish Center of North & South Brunswick has been a vibrant part of the community for decades. Founded in 1978 by Rabbi Yosef Carlebach as part of Chabad of Central and South Jersey, the center has grown through years of impactful programs and outreach.
Recognizing the need for dedicated leadership, Rabbi Carlebach appointed a full-time rabbi to serve the North & South Brunswick communities. In 1998, Rabbi Mendy Carlebach launched a series of successful youth initiatives, including the Model Matzah Bakery, Shofar Factory, and Chanukah Olive Oil Press.
